Why Nashville is a Great Place to Study Language

About one out of seven Nashville residents are foreign born. This number is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. As the foreign-born population increases, jobs for interpreters, translators and teachers of English as a second language will grow. Five colleges offer degree programs in foreign languages, giving students several choices in pursuing a foreign language degree. Internships can be difficult to find in this city, but several organizations offer volunteer opportunities to foreign language majors.
